Afghanistan US Forces in Bermel, Paktika Province

1st August 2007.Bermel, Paktika province, Afghanistan.American soldiers from the 82nd Airborne accompanied by troops from the Afghan Army conduct operations against Taliban insurgents in the region of Bermel, Paktika Province, Afghanistan on the 1st of August 2007. Whilst patrolling the rugged terrain along the Pakistan border the soldiers located a Taliban firing position with several 107mm rockets in place, two were aimed at the US base and connected to a timing device. The rockets were disabled and removed from the site.
