30th April 2006..Basra, Iraq..Iraq/Iran Border Enforcement..British soldiers from the 9/12 Lancers work alongside Iraqi Security Forces along the Iraq/Iran border. The task is to combat smuggling of people, weapons and fuel across the river...Members of B Troop based at Basra palace patrol the Shat al-Arab waterway with the Iraqi coastguard. The British troops observe and assist the Iraqis who are now sufficiently well trained to conduct operations without direction from coalition forces...
