Iraq/Iran Border Control

30th April 2006..Basra, Iraq..Iraq/Iran Border Control....British soldiers from the 9/12 Lancers work alongside Iraqi Security Forces along the Iraq/Iran border. The task is to combat smuggling of people, weapons and fuel across the river.....The British forces make long range desert patrols in Land Rovers. The border area is so remote that these patrols can be as long a five days. The 9/12 Lancers are a reconnaissance regiment and so used to being sel sufficient and when neccesary woking behind enemy lines.
