Iraq FOB 'Warhorse'

11 July 2004.Baqubah, Iraq,.FOB ' War Horse'..Forward Operating Base (FOB) 'War Horse' is situated on the outskirts of Baqubah, a violent region that has seen much action in recent months...The FOB is protected by blast walls and watch towers..Assets at this FOB include a unti that fly and monitor an unmanned aircraft carrying video and still cameras. It provides up to date arieal footage and overflies operations in case additional troops are needed...Sniper teams currently occupy various buildings overlooking the main roads which are constantly targeted by IED's (improvised explosive devices). The 'Trail Blazers' make daily sweeps of the routes looking for anything out of the ordinary...By liasing with local Iraqi National Guardsman inteligence is gather that often results in pre-emptive raids or ambushes.
