Iraq/Iran Border Enforcement

30th April 2006..Basra, Iraq..Iraq/Iran Border Enforcement..British soldiers from the 9/12 Lancers work alongside Iraqi Security Forces along the Iraq/Iran border. The task is to combat smuggling of people, weapons and fuel across the river.....An Iraq DBE( dept of Border Enforcement) guard looks out across the Shat al-Arab waterway dividing Iraq from Iran. He is based at 'Tower One' a tiny outpost with an old metal watchtower, 8 new forts have been built along the riverbank two more will be completed shortly.
