Afghanistan: Op Tora Pishaw 5

Lance Cpl 'Boycie' armed with a GPMG (General Purpose Machine Gun) plays a dangerous day long game of cat and mouse with insurgent gunmen as British soldiers from 1PWRR (Princess of Wales Regiment) are involved in an ongoing series of Operations called Tora Pishaw aimed at disrupting insurgent activity in their AO (Area of Operations). During the most recent 4 day operation the soldiers regularly came under fire from insurgents using small arms, belt fed machine guns and UGL's (Under Slung Grenade Launchers). The soldiers returned fire using shallow trenches on the edges of ploughed fields or irrigation ditches as cover. Nad I Ali North, Helmand Province, Afghanistan on the 13th of November 2011.
